Can't get rid of Nginx 403 Error - VirtualFrost - Jun 15, 2017 I've just setup a new Ubuntu 16.04 server, setup Nginx and removed apache2 from it and it's half working and I'm unsure why I'm getting this one 403 Forbidden Error. Inside my www folder I have 2 folders aFolder bFolder Inside each of these I have another folder called html and then inside these I have a index.html file(default homepage). I'm able to access that page no problem through my browser(loads just fine). Now I've created a new folder inside aFolder called aSubFolder. Inside aSubFolder I have a bunch of php files including a index.php file, however, when I go to this index file, I get the 403 Forbidden error and I'm unsure why. The index.html file permissions is 755, aSubFolder is 755, all the files inside aSubFolder is 755. Am I missing something? When I look this up, it just talks about file permissions but if they're all the same, it isn't making sense why 1 page works and the rest don't. * - SuckySucky - Jun 15, 2017 nginx does not allow autoindex unless it is specified in the config. Thus; you can view html files but not see directory listing Add this to the nginx default to get dir list autoindex on; * - VirtualFrost - Jun 15, 2017 (Jun 15, 2017 10:06 AM)SuckySucky Wrote: nginx does not allow autoindex unless it is specified in the config. autoindex on fixed my issue, appreciate the help! |
