New UK Project - Make a Difference Earn an Income - ST4RL0RD - Jun 23, 2017
Hi guys,
So I've started a new project called Free and Fearless it's an alternative media site that's based in the UK, while we'll be reporting on many issues around the world an avid interest in UK politics is a must as this will be the main focus.
Here in the UK the majority of our news agencies are run and owned by the right wing, the few left wing publications we have either don't cater for the everyday reader or are so far left that they feel filling their articles with a bunch of cussing helps get their point across.
This new project aims to make a real difference and shake up the UK journalism scene.
WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED?
You may be wondering why you should get involved, first and foremost you will be making a huge difference politically. The website aims to be like TYT (The Young Turks) but for Brits.
The scope for this website to do well is HUGE website like The Canary have grown so big in the UK they are now worth hundreds of thousands of pounds if not worth millions.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
I'm going to be financing everything, I'm not after money, I'm after time, passion and commitment.
I will need:
- Journalists and writers
- Video makers and editors
- Podcast & radio hosts
- Editors & proof readers
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
The website is already accepting coin payment donations. As I mentioned above The Canary have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds through their readers. I will be pumping money into FaceBook advertising, Google ads as well as time promoting this website in real life and across the net.
This project WILL NOT fail. I wont let it, I'm far too passionate about it. I currently own a digital marketing agency which makes in excess of £20k per year. Hello Local. Trust me when I get behind a project I wont back out, you have an opportunity to get on board now and help out or miss the opportunity and watch the benefits earlier adopters and volunteers get later on.
While initially a lot of the work will be voluntary it will:
- Benefit your portfolio
- Benefit your C.V.
- Help you get involved with social activism and social justice
- Benefit anyone who wants to pursue a career in journalism or politics
I own a verified UK business so can give formal references as well for anyone who does volunteer their time.
That's not all though, I'm not a greedy person. Anyone who helps me with this will a fair cut of any profits made.
It's difficult because I want to award the people who do the most work and put in the most time and passion while still giving people a fair cut. So while I wan to split ALL profits equally between everyone I realise that's not practical due to people who wont put in much effort, so fine tuning revenue share is something I will have to figure out how to do.
Right now I plan on using STEEM as a way to share any revenue made through articles but again it's all open to discussion.
DON'T GET INVOLVED JUST FOR THE MONEY
This project will be one that's long and will take time to build up before it's generating a lot of revenue, however when passion and dedication come first then profits will always follow.
Please only post your interest below if you have a passion and vision for this project just like I do.
As I said anyone from any country can get involved but it will be focusing on news from a UK perspective so an avid interest in UK politics is a must.

Hey, sounds like a great project to get involved with. Although I spend a lot of time working (making ends meet as a student) I'd be happy to offer my time in proof-reading and any web dev work you may potentially need. Share a common interest in SEO as well and would like to run my own business in the near future after graduating.
I was never really interested in politics until recently with the election & the terrorism that's been happening over here. Think it just shows the country is in a slight dilemma with it's hung parliament & joining with the DUP.
Let me know if I can be of any help, also I wouldn't be willing to share my CV but could share my portfolio of previous work.

I'm a little bit of a night owl :-P
I'd also be happy to offer any advice/help in terms of my business experience I've had my company now since 2014 so a good few years and had a steady income from it.
Rather than checking people's CV's would just be nice to know where they stand politically.
If anyone is on the right (Tory, UKIP supporter etc) then they probably wont like this project, it's going to be way more of a lefty pro Corbyn etc publication.

I don't plan on this being a dictatorship, I just currently want people to get together and get behind the project, perfectly happy to let people pick up and run with any role they want.
I'm all up for meeting for a coffee as well, I live quite a distance out of Manchester but still easy to commute to the center.
My hope is if one day something happened to me someone else would pick up and run the project, so yes looking for people to fulfill higher positions as well. It's just building that trust up with someone, that's the main thing.
