Marketplace Discussions Rule Clarification - Mafius - Jun 25, 2017 I'm seeking some clarification on the second rule Quote: 2. You cannot use this section to advertise. As threads like this https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5350906 seem like straight up advertisements. What exactly does the rule mean? What is and isn't allowed? * - Chique - Jun 25, 2017 Advertising a sales thread, they aren't selling anything but providing a SELLING platform/autobuy site * - Mαxim - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:22 AM)Mafius Wrote: As threads like this https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5350906 seem like straight up advertisements. That's more of a support/dev thread doe. Of course, they should explain their service and have a banner and such. * - Mafius - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:24 AM)Chique Wrote: Advertising a sales thread, they aren't selling anything but providing a SELLING platform/autobuy site Isn't that covered by the first rule though? Quote:1. Do not use this section for buying, selling, or promoting your existing marketplace thread. Edit: before this gets quoted further, I'm saying that advertising of marketplace threads is covered under the first rule, so that likely isn't the meaning of the second rule. * - Bαker - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:24 AM)Chique Wrote: Advertising a sales thread, they aren't selling anything but providing a SELLING platform/autobuy site What this user stated. They aren't selling anything here just providing information on the platform they run, such features, plans, etc. * - Chique - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:25 AM)Mafius Wrote: Isn't that covered by the first rule though?"Existing marketplace thread", again they do not have anything for sale and that is the only thread pertaining to it. It's used as a dev/support thread. * - Mαxim - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:25 AM)Mafius Wrote: Isn't that covered by the first rule though? Sadly not really they are explaining a website that offers a service that people can benefit from for real sale threads. They do not have a sales thread as they don't truly sell anything (Except premium on the service) (Jun 25, 2017 08:28 AM)Mafius Wrote: That's not what I meant, I'm saying that advertising of marketplace threads is covered by the first rule, so that probably isn't the meaning of the second rule. So the first rule covers promoting a sales thread, i.e. HEY I LAUNCHED THIS SERVICE OPINION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED CHECK IT OUT HERE<lINK>. The 2nd rule covers straight up selling in that area, i.e. Hey I am selling x accounts because I dont have rep to post in the proper area (Just an example) * - Mafius - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:29 AM)๖ۣۜMrDark Wrote: The 2nd rule covers straight up selling in that area, i.e. Hey I am selling x accounts because I dont have rep to post in the proper area (Just an example) Again.. isn't that already covered by the first rule? Quote:1. The other thread is a support thread.======================== In other words, you can advertise whatever products you want in marketplace discussions as long as you make it a support thread. Let's watch the premium sellers take advantage of this. * - Bαker - Jun 25, 2017 (Jun 25, 2017 08:33 AM)Mafius Wrote: Again.. isn't that already covered by the first rule? No. The first rule covers Quote:your existing marketplace thread. Not making one in that section. To you and use it would be common sense, but it's the internet Omni/Staff want to make rules cover all bases so when they lay down the hammer it's justified. * - Omniscient - Jun 25, 2017 Quote:In other words, you can advertise whatever products you want in marketplace discussions as long as you make it a support thread. That is NOT TRUE. Thread moved to the correct section. |
