I have just tested this myself and it works great. You get 87% off .com domain and you get private registration for only $2 so it comes out to $4 total.
How to get it?
Go to godaddy, enter your .com domain, add private registration option and at the checkout use coupon code - cjcrmn2cp
p.s - This is not a referral program and I don't get any money if you buy from them

Awesome share hopefully it will still be active in a few days when I need to buy a domain.
Ended up using it today and work fine. Cost me $4.18 with ICANN fees couldn't ask for a better deal thanks OP
