so ok guys this is a fast but basic post, i found over the years my favorite scanners are, nikto.pl and acutenix.
Now in order to run nikto you need active x perl, and not strawberry. nikto wount work with strawberry perl. now you need to download perl in order to get nikto to run. nikto is very easy to run.
in order to scan for vulns, ur gonna wanna, first open cmd, then go cd the directory of ur files for nikto. now you wanna type nikto.pl -host then the website ur scanning, this is probally my faviour vuln scanners.
you will be suprised how many vulnerbilities you will be able to pickup and exploit a website with. i have hacked several websites with these tools, and i would recommend them

Next your gonna wanna get a cracked version of acunetix vuln scanner. you can find them here, these are the best links i can find. Note the download will be slow or unusable at times, but it will eventually download . i have been through this already. anyway hope you guys enjoyed this post.

also if you cant find any vulnerbilites try a port scan and look for open ports and programs you can run exploit.

Nikto is great at enumerating services and Acunetix is good for testing web apps.
They both have their uses and both have their benefits.
For a server that wasn't running a web service, an Acunetix scan would be trivial and would likely not to produce anything of importance where is a Nikto scan scans other services other than web services. In my opinion you are comparing apples against oranges.

i cant type pirate, you know bay in the thing because it blocks it, but thats were you get the cracked 9.5 version of acutentix, it will show you were the cross site scripting vulns are, and several vulns in the webserver, its a spider, it will show you vulnerable pages, admin logins, and cpannels, and php myadmins configs and files, and logins. then you can further enumerate more exploits on the web service. acutentix crack by arma dl fixed is a clean version. they are probally the best simplest tools for website hacking
i love acutentix because i can steal cookies on weak sites, and when you go into the login page on the scanner it will display all the inputs.

Acunetix 9.5 is pretty old these days, should update and try Acunetix 11. If you can't afford to buy it and support the developers, Hmily keygenned it and its floating around online.
