Can I use an android phone as instillation media for Windows 10? - MasterRoshi - Jun 27, 2017 I may be ratted. I saw my cursor move and then my browser closed. I want to format my computer and re-install windows 10 and dual boot with kali linux. Then run tails on a virtual machine in kali linux and browse web with Tor. Instead of using a usb can i use my android phone to re-install windows 10? * - Periche - Jun 28, 2017 No, because windows needs a fat32 partition. Android has ext4 for /system folder and fat32 for internal storage/external storage, but let's say that you place your windows 10 files on that fat32 partition, when you boot up your pc to enter in boot mode, your partition won't be detected because windows isn't loaded yet so the android drivers for mass storage won't be loaded. Just use a usb and that't it. * - MasterRoshi - Jun 28, 2017 Great explanation. Thank you (Jun 28, 2017 04:37 AM)Periche Wrote: No, because windows needs a fat32 partition. Oh What about Kali Linux? Does that need the fat32 partition. I want to dual with Kali linux * - Periche - Jun 29, 2017 Fat32 is an universal format type, most devices will be able to detect it. You want to install kali in dual boot with windows using android? Because you can't as i told you in my previous post. If you want to install it using usb, then plug the win 10 usb,do a fresh install and make sure that you leave some space for the kali in the disk manager thing[just after you hit Custom] from win instalation. Let's say you have a 1tb hdd, make a 700 gb partition for windows and format it as ntfs and leave the 300 gb free without formatting it. Install windows 10 in that ntfs partition, reboot, plug your kali usb, choose install or graphical install and choose the 300 gb partition to install it. Or if you already have win 10 installed, then you can go to run - diskmgmt.msc , shrink a partition and use the unallocated space to install kali. * - MasterRoshi - Jun 29, 2017 Never realized I needed to make a partition thanks |
