Dawn - Forum Development Student Recruitment
This recruitment is for the Forum Development (MyBB focused at this moment in time) course only. If you're interested in another course please visit Student Recruitment. This course is for those who either want to enter the world of forum development or even want to run their own forum in the near future. Whilst you will have your own works space on the forum, you will also have the following things outside of the forum which will be provided for free:
- A Free Domain
- Free cPanel Hosting (Possibly VPS Hosting)
- A Copy of The Latest MyBB Distribution
Prior to enrolling, I am inclined to tell you that you will find this course to be a massive struggle if you do not have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and PHP. Of course, this is no requirement however you will more or less be forced to learn basic HTML, CSS, and PHP whilst on this course. This course is the first of its kind on Hack Forums.
Below is the format you should use when posting your application. Please be as detailed as possible.

Why would you be a good fit for Dawn?
I'm really interested in learning about this stuff so you know your time won't be wasted on teaching someone who isn't very interested. I'm also really active so you don't have to worry about me missing something.
What do you wish to learn from this course?
I want to basically learn how to build my own forum and other types of sites. I'm really interested in this stuff but never had someone to teach me.
General MyBB Experience (Inc. Stylings & Plugins)
Zero experience.
Why do you wish to join this course?
As stated above already, but I don't do much here besides posts so it would nice to be able to actually learn something new from Hack Forums.
Do you understand that failure to participate in your enrolled courses is grounds for immediate removal from the group?
Yes, I 100% understand.
Sorry for the one liners.

Why would you be a good fit for Dawn?
Compared to the others, I can be a good fit because of my tenacity to learn. Once my interest has shifted towards a new path, I will work to my best in achieving what stands at the end of the path. If I were to be a part of Dawn, I would strive towards not letting my group down with my sordid actions.
What do you wish to learn from this course?
One of the things I'm looking to learn from this course is on the plugins/security part, since I haven't been accustomed to those parts ever since MyBB 1.6.x. Alongside that, I'm also a bit out of touch with the general troubleshooting tips. I'm not really sure what has changed between MyBB 1.6.x and 1.8.x, but my intuitions tell me that the way MyBB processes things has changed and I need to get accustomed to it again.
General MyBB Experience (Inc. Stylings & Plugins)
- Basic theme styling/modification [rusty]
- Basic plugin modification [rusty]
- Setting up MyBB [rusty]
- Installing a theme [rusty]
- Basic troubleshooting [rusty..]
Why do you wish to join this course?
Although I've had my fair share with MyBB, I would like to renew and refresh my skills with MyBB's latest release.
Do you understand that failure to participate in your enrolled courses is grounds for immediate removal from the group?
Yes.
