[BUILD] Build me a computer! - Ninja™ - Jul 6, 2017 I am looking to buy a new pc. Wouldnt mind building a new one myself. Budget: 1000$ Country: India Local Sites: amazon.in , flipkart.com Note: Amazon.com is fine but parts you list should be available for shipping to India. For amazon.com make it 1200$ including shipping charges. Purpose: Want to try different linux distros on it so Vm should handle it.Adobe PS and Visual Basic, music, browsing. Basically PC should handle it without a hitch. I absolutely hate slow performance or lagging that why paying this much for general tasks. Gaming: Games on high settings would be good. Case: Can be simple. Main focus is on performance. Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard: Will buy separately, so suggestions are welcome. Thank you. * - Gt403cyl - Jul 6, 2017 What is your budget in Rupee?? * - Ninja™ - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 04:17 PM)Gt403cyl Wrote: What is your budget in Rupee?? Well current rate is nearly 65. Grab another stick of RAM and this hard drive later when you can. https://in.pcpartpicker.com/product/MwW9TW/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex * - Gt403cyl - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 08:43 PM)Breeze26509 Wrote: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Yeah, I thought about dropping the HDD for an SSD like you say but I felt as though OP needed the space, and I would rather recommend a better SSD TBH the 850 EVO 250GB was the goal but just couldn't squeeze it in... Agreed on the 480 > 1050Ti as well... to fit the 1600, I just feel the 480 is a much better card that would make more of an impact for everything else other than the VM's.... the 4 core 1400 should be ok for 2-3 VM's given 4 cores 8 threads... but the 6 core will be better no doubt... * - Ninja™ - Jul 6, 2017 Thank you everyone for your answers. I am considering 3 options here: 1. Buying the above parts from amazon india. 2. Buy the parts in usa , deal with a hf user using a MM and having it shipped to me. If I choose 2nd option will the shipping charges + MM fee + User fees , will make it worth the parts I will get from buying in USA Or will it be too much hassle? 3. I buy from local stores here using the name you gave in list but then if some component is not available , how would I be able to know which will work with what pc part? Thnx everyone for helping me out. * - Gt403cyl - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 11:34 PM)Flying Ninja Wrote: Thank you everyone for your answers. Personally I can't say, I would think the hassle and the extra costs would negate any savings.... EDIT: 3- well go to the shop and if they don't have a specifc part see what they do have for a similar price and the shop might be able to say if they are compatible or worst case ask here and then you will know... * - Ninja™ - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 11:38 PM)Gt403cyl Wrote: Personally I can't say, I would think the hassle and the extra costs would negate any savings.... What I meant to say was that: If I buy 1000$ build in usa and have it shipped for 200$ vs 1200$ build in india would they be almost same in performance? I think better parts are available for cheap in USA(?) Am I right here? * - Percyi - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 11:34 PM)Flying Ninja Wrote: Thank you everyone for your answers. I just did a rough estimate for about 75 lbs shipping to India and it cost $82 on top of the $1200 value I entered through UPS. With the middleman fees, it should be around $100-$120 more. I'm not sure if you should do that to be honest. If the same parts are all available for Amazon India, why not just order through there? * - Ninja™ - Jul 6, 2017 (Jul 6, 2017 11:43 PM)Feariousity Wrote: I just did a rough estimate for about 75 lbs shipping to India and it cost $82 on top of the $1200 value I entered through UPS. That's 40,000 more than his budget...... regardless of where he buys I would assume they still have to convert from rupee to USD.... Obviously the parts are available (in my list) as they are from amazon.in sooo... |
