Few SSD questions! (Bootup and process after cloning) - Sharjah - Jul 9, 2017

How should I set the SSD as the default bootup?

Also, what should I do after I clone all my files from my original HHD? Shows my HHD still has 142/232GB but the SSD has 374GB/465GB

I have the Samsung Evo 500GB

To set it as the default boot up, go into your BIOS and change the boot order.

This. Or you could also open up your case and connect your SSD to the first SATA port, same thing.

If your SSD doesn't appear in the boot order do what I told you above ^

Got it to boot up on default. Anything else I should do after everything was cloned?

Nice. Remove unnessecarry files and keep them on the HDD (if you need the space)

Would it be a good idea to keep the SSD only for gaming, and have pictures, downloads, videos, etc. all on the HHD?

Yes, that is ideal. You can keep editing programs or basically anything that you want to boot up/process faster on your SSD.
