I've downloaded a virus? - LFCooledWhip - Jul 10, 2017

I was using some random websites to convert youtube videos to MP3. I know it's bad. I did it yesterday and today, and now I was playing CSGO and I was getting choppy stuff a bit. Like I was playing and my frames were kinda chopping. Did I download a virus? When I clicked the download button on the website(it was the right one trust me) another tab opened up and closed real quick. How do I check? I have kaspersky but it has NEVER detected anything.

What windows are you using ?

Just because you have "kaspersky" does not mean you are 100% safe. There is things called FUD that bypass these antiviruses scantime and runtime. (Trust me) So if you truly think your infected you should format. Don't take a chance with your data and files. Also use malwarebytes ontop of a antivirus. Antivirus protection alone isn't enough.

PM me if you need someone to take a look at it.

Run RKill, It should detect any malicious processes.

everyone is being so over the top about this

You are using the latest version of your browser, correct?

There is a 99% chance you are absolutely fine, that experience you had will not have done anything, unless someone happens to have a absolutely mad top end super secret expensive exploit that costs an arm, liver and a sister, that could also potentially cause a world catastrophe.
