Invalid rep? - True Money - Jul 14, 2017

Is this rep he left on me invalid?

(abusive language, racial slurs?)

Just wondering...

Quote:What is reputation abuse?
Reputation abuse can be very complicated subject matter. Here is a list of the following ways reputation can be viewed as abuse.
• Flaming: Using extremely coarse language to describe or berate a member.
• Reputation as a currency: We do not allow the buying or selling of reputations.
• Gang Rep: The act of coordination with other members to raise or lower a member’s reputation is not allowed.
• Rep Coercion: Using intimidation, threats, or blackmail to get reps added or removed.
• Rep Requesting: You cannot give hints, tips, or request reputations.
• Scammer Reputation: You're required to leave a link to a Deal Dispute thread you have created to infer someone is a scammer (ie: scammer, scams, chargebacks, scamming). Please note that a Deal Dispute link must be your own thread you've created. It cannot be a thread opened by another member.
• Deal Dispute Linking: We don't allow you to link to a Deal Dispute forum thread that's opened by another member.
• Reputation Collusion: Agreeing to participate in reciprocal reputations with a member.

If you feel it violates any of these, I suggest messaging Minimalist!

I see these kinds of reps left on people all the time.
However I do not think it's invalid.

His rep may be abusive since it's flaming, but you left him a generic salty rep in return. So I'd say you guys are even.

Infact the rep you left on him possibly breaks these two rules.

Once he "contacts you to resolve" you will try to get both of you to make it green. "Change my rep to green and ill remove mine"

Is resolving rep allowed? Isn't that a form of asking for rep/rep collusion?

There's no rule against coming to a neutral agreement in terms of a reputation adjustment between 2 members, just so you know.

@OP just forget about it, this isn't the first and sure as hell won't be the last shitty rep you get.

Thats pretty much what I said on my post there, that he himself was also breaking rep rules.

I'm confused what that means.

How is it not allowed to try and resolve a rep with another user neutrally? Surely that is just resolving a situation/whatever caused the rep...?

I understand that rule, it's like you asking me to give you rep, if in exchange you give me some. Of course that's a violation. However, there's NO rule against me messaging a user who left me a negative, and asking him for a change of heart.
