Never saw many people violating this rule anyway and when they did it wasn't a huge thing. Glad you are taking the time to revise the rules and prune the irrelevant or otherwise pointless ones.

It use to be a problem where threads were just running 1000 replies just for people to post "me too, can I get one" or worse. The MT in particular was horrible. The rule was placed to increase site quality. It's no longer needed though. I doubt the troubles will return.
