Securing a OSRS account - Sonata - Aug 1, 2017

Hey all,

This is sort of a continuation from my last post -

I just purchased a really decent account for 45$. Judging from the price that other sellers list accounts, I got a REALLY good deal. What are the steps I can take to secure this account?

SO FAR:
*I changed email
*set up 2factor auth
*changed password

What else can I do?

You can't secure a Runescape account.

There's nothing you can do, you did everything under your possibilities.

Now, an advice from someone who has bought like 3 rs accounts and "secured" them all. Don't ever buy an account again, they are ALWAYS recoverable. Owner can pull it back whenever he wants.

Once I bought an account with Original email, the one it was registered. Guess what? After a month owner pulled it back, and I owned the acc email. Jagex didn't help me out to recover it, lost my money.

If they have recovery questions, they can pull it back. No matter what.

How can I check if recovery questions are here?
How can I remove/change them?

You can't remove/change them. Recovery questions consist on information that only the owner of the account can provide.

Generally, last 3 passwords of the accounts, date when the account was created, ISP you used to create the account, membership billing information (paypal receipts or w/e).

So what if I change the password three more times, ask the seller for the date of account creation, ISP provider, and buy membership, should I be fine? Should I inquire about the recovery questions?

What steps would you take?

Ask him for a recovery test. It consist on him, filling the recovery questions of the account in front of you (screenshare). You'll be writing them on notepad or whatever to save them.

Asking him such information won't take you far, cause he can easily lie to you. The only way to prove that his information is real, is by doing the recovery test.

The only way of securing it is to

1) buy from a trusted acc seller who churns them out, who doesn't give a shit about recovering it back

2) let whoever you bought it off that if they recover it then you will email
Jagex and tell them that you bought the acc...banning it

3) get a verified ID of them so if they scam you you can go fuckthem up

Hopefully the person is trusted. All you can hope for.

Unfortunately the original owner can always recover their account.
