I downloaded nice PDF Thinking in Java 4 but its from 2006...
Would you guys recommend this? or maybe are there any better/newer books/pdfs?

Java is at SE8 now with 9 on its way. A decent amount has changed since SE6, get an updated book.
I don't know what to recommend you though since I didn't learn from books.

actually im on 75 page and its not that outdated i think. will read that. helps a lot
I mean it covers java SE5/SE6 and java core basics, syntax, these things probably didnt change in SE 7/8. So I will read that and then will read something that will cover new features in SE 7/8

Yeah a Java 4 book is completely useless unless you're just curious to see what Java was like back in the days of Java 4.

Edition 4, not Java 4. The book focuses on Java 5/6 (which is still outdated).
