Merged accounts can not be reinstated. You have to start from fresh again.

Also, don't buy Uber or leet thinking your account will be safe. Back in the days, your account was indeed safe but now-a-days your account gets deleted if you don't log in enough.
So if you, for example take a year long trip around the world you can say goodbye to your old account.

Memory serves Omniscient did away with the 1 year inactive closures.

But regular accounts are still capable of being closed when you're not being active enough though:
