Charizard Illustration + Color Variations - AvessoVision - Aug 17, 2017

I used to be a pokemon fan when I was a youngster and decided to bring back some of those memories.
I wanted to relax a bit and do something quick and enjoyable.

Here's Charizard in his final form with a few color variations that I'm sure some of you might appreciate.
There's no need to tell which one's the real deal.

What is your favorite color combo and why?
I would definitely pick the black + blue since it looks so powerful.
And it looks like Night Fury too.

I think it would have been way cooler doing the other stance with him breathing fire.

Yeah you're right. Actually this was the first pose I found and thought it should work. Wanted to do a chill illustration though. But that's also a good idea.

Quite simple actually. Tracing has been done in Illustrator for a smooth outline and then I've jumped into Photoshop for color and shading. Why not do both in Illustrator you may ask? Because I am most comfortable with Photoshop and it's much easier for me to move around. The classic one is always the best choice!

Awesome... I thought you got the pic from a coloring book on google images lol... Done by yourself in Illustrator/photoshop must have taken time!!... but the color of your Charizard can be changed in a matter of seconds in photoshop!

Black, White & Red one is godly looking :)

I just practice doing line art in Illustrator to get my vector game up. Besides that it doesen't usually take long at all if you have quick hands.

That was actually the first one I started with.

My actual thought was to do the Evolution one but that wasn't part of my childhood so I decided to stick with the classic.

Much appreciated!
Apparently the black and red is getting some recognition.

Really dope, love the different colors :)
Could of course use some more detailed highlights, but no biggie

It does not have any highlights though. It's the main flat shading that gives that impression.

I agree, my favorite is the black and blue one, though they all look great! Keep it up!
