Rate My Web Design - Lukas - Aug 19, 2017

Whipped up something for my pal, AvessoVision.

* I'm aware of a few small spacing errors - ignore them, I'm too lazy to go back and fix.

I really like it! I like the fact that it looks professional and it's not all over the place. Most designers would throw a lot more color in there when it's not needed.
You did a really nice job on this one.

The image you use in your footer (clouds), I happen to use on my own website as well ;) I got it from Pexels, I guess so did you?

If your friend is also a web designer and this is being advertised on the site, why did you have to make it if I may ask.

I run Influence's graphic division. I wanted to keep my activity up and couldn't find any inspiration so I did this as a little project to keep myself from getting rusty.

Also, no. I got mine from Unsplash. :)

This was something he wanted to do, not in particulary for me. I'm just the "model" for him to use in a web/portofolio design.
Yes I am a graphic designer as well and I have left him a proper feedback commentary on the Influence group where he also posted the design.

Yet again I am proud that he managed to pull it off with a few mistakes here and there, but it's nothing I haven't told him about in the group.

Made in photoshop right? How do you use CSS and javascript using just an image?.. Sorry if thats a stupid question just want to know!!

There's too much to explain. Also, it's HTML and CSS mainly, not Javascript.

So there is a way lol... your video is an hour long so ill just take your word... i thought everything was done through CSS.. im guessing there are a lot of image mapping

It's a little off with the 3 "skills" as they go all the way to the edges, where the rest of the page is keeping a similar grid all the way through.
The device in the header is a bit too close to the navbar, since you keep a pretty good spacing of everything else, even though the portfolio part is pretty close to the edge at the top as well. But you told us to ignore those, thought I'd point it out anyway

It's nice. I like it. The only fault is, in my opinion, I feel there is too much white space leftover in the second section. Otherwise fine.

Really digging the design, but here are a few suggestions:
  • Can't distinguish the AV from the logo -- remove the border around the header logo and make the logo larger

  • Increase the padding around "View my latest work" and make the arrow smalle

  • Top and bottom margin of portfolio section don't match

  • Move the about section above portfolio

  • Add a shadow to the product markups

  • Not digging the double nav bar -- why two?

  • Maybe make the footer logo smaller and add some social media links?

  • I don't like the separate black background around "Designed by Lukas." Why not keep it transparent?

  • Seems too basic content-wise. Add more sections?
