Mobile Hotspot IPs (What damage can you do?) - Mr. Moe - Sep 6, 2017 I understand you are able to ddos a home network easy. You are also vulnerable to ISP attacks since you put your address/name/phone# on the bill. But what about if you were in a mobile hotspot? I know that hotspots cannot be ddos as easily, it requires a stronger attack or different type. Or some hotspots don't even receive incoming packets all together! Also how can you dox a hotspot IP? Is it possible to SE the mobile service provider? * - Armada - Sep 6, 2017 What are you talking about, harder to DDoS??? Most mobile hotspots are on the cellular band. Thus WAY more limited than a regular cabled connection. Which would be easier to drop, a cable/fiber land line, or something running on RF? * - Fizure - Sep 6, 2017 Thing is with mobile hotspot is if your tower goes down your phone will instantly connect to the next closest one. So in a way...you cant go offline from a DDoS attack * - Mr. Moe - Sep 6, 2017 (Sep 6, 2017 09:24 PM)Armada Wrote: What are you talking about, harder to DDoS??? The IP uses NAT, Fizure did a great job explaining it (thank you btw, i thought they couldnt even receive packets all togethr). Do you know if you could ISP dox these types of IPs? * - Armada - Sep 6, 2017 (Sep 6, 2017 10:05 PM)Mr. Moe Wrote: The IP uses NAT, Fizure did a great job explaining it (thank you btw, i thought they couldnt even receive packets all togethr). Do you know if you could ISP dox these types of IPs? An IP lookup will tell you the provider... Or should at least. |
