Almost all my jobs I knew the person and I'm very well connected in my community so I've always been able to pull some good jobs. It was dope

lucky but props to you bc you probably help your community unlike me,
so you deserve it. I should probably get more involved.

College is important depending on the degree you want.

Totally agree with this being one factor, another factor can be if you have connections, another being say around the tech industry, if you build something amazing, companies will be more than willing to hire you as they know your potential. People can bash on college/university, but in the end, it still lands people jobs, whether they network with companies during their studies or if having their qualification lands them a job. Definitely isn't for everyone though that's for sure.

Tech wise you can get any position if you know people that's the beauty of tech. Most college students / graduates aren't actually very knowledgeable of coding and such than a self taught individual. Unless of course it's engineering then that's a whole new animal.

My job requires a degree. My industry needs a degree. Most jobs with specialized skills will require a degree. Most likely if your degree awards a Bachelors of Science, your industry probably requires a degree.

Tech is an area where you can learn more outside of college than inside college. (Programming)

Engineering is different, of course.
