Edit the bump rule for "Service Offerings" section - TCP - Sep 9, 2017

Quote:If you want your thread bumped you should make a quality post that positively affects your sales thread or responds to a pertinent reply to another post

If I can't bump the thread I will get no reply from others unless I actively ask friends or apply for some request(in service requests) then ask for vouch.

For a service that does not change it is impossible to make new posts with quality content, therefore it becomes very hard to run a coding/homework/graphic/etc thread in a consistent way without going against this rule.

You should allow only a bump every 24 hours, it would really hurt none, you could even do this programmatically allowing only a post from OP per day.

(This is from a pm I sent to Minimalist today, but since he does not make the rules I post this here to see if it will get any attention)

If you're so worried about having your thread on the front page then just buy a sticky.

You sound lazy and looking for a way around it. It's not hard to make a post that will positively affect your sales thread, not matter what service it is.

I may get a warning for the same rule even if I bump this once a week or once a month...it does not specify any timespan

It's really not that hard to find something to post lol..

If I have a service that does not change, like design or coding or homework there is no need to make a post containing random quality content

It's simply a way for telling people "hey i am here/i am doing this", it's not really hard to understand, sure I can do what you ask but holds no mean for its purpose

People know you're still doing the service if your thread is still open. If you're simply worried about not gaining enough attention due to not being on the first page like I said then purchase a sticky (I don't see why separate rules should apply in that section. Everyone has to deal with it.)

With the current rule I can get a warning for any timespan, even if I bump this once per month so it's not about attention but rather purpose. There is no point in putting quality content in a bump post, if I have something important to say I put it in my thread post. Moreover a service does not even have actual content to post, you just need to bump it sometime.

To bypass this rule would be enough to just ask some friend to make a question in the thread, it really has no mean to be there, if you are worried about illicit bumps just limit it to once per day(or more).

Of course I could buy a sticky thread, but that's not the purpose of a long-term service to get hundreds of requests all the same day/week.

We don't take rule suggestions. Also, posts are already merged if you post again under 24h.
