Permanently disable Windows Defender? - juulstar - Sep 9, 2017

Sorry to be a bother, but Windows Defender keeps on turning it self on, and is there any way to stop it from turning on over and over?

Thank you. I will get back to you soon.

It didn't like when I tried to do that, I'll have to find some type of exploit, thank you though. 🤝

It won't stop running until you install another antivirus I tried it but haven't found a solution so just try to install Avira or something!

Disable it via your Group Policy editor.

Computer configuration > Administrative templates > Windows components > Windows Defender.

Double click "Turn off Windows defender" and then "Enable".

Repeat the process and click disable if you want to re-enable defender

I don't have a high enough version of Windows to do that.

Open regedit using Windows Key + R (Run)
Change EnableFirewall to 0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile

Sometimes it happens to be in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfiles
