Its an adaptation, people expect it to cross over exactly how the anime is. If you never seen the anime you may think its okay but comparing to the anime of course it fucking sucks.

the thing with the movie and the actual anime is that they do not correlate at all between each other which is totally crap and stupid it ruins the all anime thats the point im trying to make if u really want to watch a thriller then watch the anime episodes your going to enjoy then because movies usually tend to cut out some of the more exciting parts and switch things around which makes it more dull

I saw both but I didn't think the movie was that bad because I knew what to expect. I had a few problems with the movie though.
Why was L black? I'm black and I think that was dumbass choice. Also, they introduced "Mia" way too quickly, he had just got started with the Death Note. It was a decent twist I guess. I just can't get over L.
Ryuk was BOSS though. "You said dealer's choice.. hehehehe."
