What if a hacker cleared all student loans - Cagey - Sep 11, 2017 Wonder what would happen I can imagine how excited a lot of people would be but would the schools end up closing? Interesting just thought about it. * - SIM-2223238 - Sep 11, 2017 Someone has done it before but I forgot his name. * - Steve - Sep 11, 2017 I don't think school would close. Most student loans are taken from the government or banks and not the schools themselves, so the schools still got paid. * - Cagey - Sep 11, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:18 PM)Aggron Wrote: Someone has done it before but I forgot his name. I think that's where I got it from he cleared a few 100 students I think I'd have to find the article but i'm saying what if this happens to ALL the student loans * - severos - Sep 11, 2017 Probably they have backups, maybe even paper backups. But then again, they can play the "if you can't prove it, then you haven't paid" card, so instead of people not having to pay, those who paid will pay double. * - Cagey - Sep 11, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:20 PM)severos Wrote: Probably they have backups, maybe even paper backups. I doubt they would pay double it would be the governments fault for being compromised not the students. * - severos - Sep 11, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:22 PM)ODea Wrote: I doubt they would pay double it would be the governments fault for being compromised not the students. Well, if you're talking about government schools, I'm 99% sure they have paper archive for everything, they'll just tell you to wait until they rebuild the database, or they actually revert everything to paper work. * - False King - Sep 11, 2017 The same when someone would clear all other debts, unpaid taxes and whatever. Chaos. * - Cagey - Sep 11, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:32 PM)severos Wrote: Well, if you're talking about government schools, I'm 99% sure they have paper archive for everything, they'll just tell you to wait until they rebuild the database, or they actually revert everything to paper work. Considering this has happened before and the debt was completely waved over it again I doubt they would be able to do all that work. thats about 20 years worth of a shit ton of student loans they wouldn't know who was paid off and who wasn't it wouldn't be worth the time. * - Celph - Sep 11, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:20 PM)severos Wrote: Probably they have backups, maybe even paper backups. Do you not realize that people have banking records and can prove they paid things? ROFL * - intel1 - Sep 12, 2017 interesting thought for genuine students who cant afford * - Mr JR - Sep 12, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:18 PM)Aggron Wrote: Someone has done it before but I forgot his name. yeah i know him but also forgot his name * - unovu - Sep 12, 2017 this kind of reminds me of Mr. Robot, but that would be sick, and imagine if he was from hf too lmfaoo * - Nu5Df3 - Sep 12, 2017 (Sep 12, 2017 07:22 AM)Mr JR Wrote: yeah i know him but also forgot his name Dêfãult Vírüsa * - nicksaban1 - Sep 12, 2017 (Sep 11, 2017 11:20 PM)Steve Wrote: I don't think school would close. Pell grants will automatically pay off it's amount in tuition. Some need gov't loans to pay off the rest of the tuition, and when you get that, that is yours to use at your discretion. But most schools won't let you go over a certain amount without paying previous term charges. $1K probably. But even then, schools would still stay open. Somebody please wipe out my student loan. It would be much appreciated! 🤝 |
