How is this identity theft? * - Ðᶏ⇂ ⇃ᶏᶒ - Sep 20, 2017 That's fucking scary bruh wtf. It should be disallowed as it may not be active ID theft but... a SSN? are you serious? lmao we talkin big credit fraud here cmon now * - Linux™ - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:16 PM)Nachfolger Wrote: You're not stealing an identitiy by looking up the SSN. How is this identity theft? SSN's aren't necessarily public, having someone's SSN without consent is Identity theft by legal statute. Use of an SSN such as even sharing, possession, or use is defined as identity theft. 🤝 Under the FCRA it's use is limited to jurisdiction and that "norm" is held by financial institutions or employers. I'm sure if you get caught with someone else's SSN you're going to be seeing tyrone. * - Elitas - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:19 PM)Linux™ Wrote: SSN's aren't necessarily public, having someone's SSN without consent is Identity theft by legal statute. If you have their SSN, that is not a crime! It's what you do to obtain the Social Security Number that would be considered a criminal offence. * - Linux™ - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:21 PM)Elitas Wrote: Offering a tool which searches up an SSN doesn't necessarily 'steal' an SSN or violate anyone's privacy. Three strikes you're out! It is illegal to use or possess information such as SSN's without the consent of the person whom it belongs to. Selling a method outlines on a site such as hackforums is cliche, don't try to bullshit like it's innocent. If someone gets caught with a SSN in a dox they're getting raped by police, and that's that. 🤝 EDIT: You're right it's not illegal to possess someone's SSN or look it up. But on a site like HF it's intent is obviously used for malice. Again three strikes you're out. I still would like to see what staff has to say about the use of SSN's on site. I'm almost certain it's disallowed. It's like saying CNC machines are illegal because you can make guns. * - Linux™ - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:25 PM)J.P Morgan Wrote: He is selling a Method not Someone's SSN itself. Wait to see what staff says. 🤝 I'm certain staff regards discussion of gaining someone's SSN, or any material about it is closely associated with fraud. 🤝 * - Elitas - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:24 PM)Linux™ Wrote: We've been here with malware before. It's a doxing tool after all, you're not selling someone's SSN or personal information which isn't already available on the Internet... You're right, it will be interesting to see what Staff have to say about this, but I can't see why it wouldn't be allowed! * - FamousHater - Sep 20, 2017 im sure he is counting on finding equifax hack * - Bαker - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:16 PM)B3Plays Wrote: i would not think so seems like tht would be on like a grey area Are you retarded? I seriously can't tell if you are being a troll or just don't understand. SSN are not items that are obtained in legal means when your script runs. These at one point where obtained maliciously, you aren't doxing someone to see if they are a good Candidate to rent your house EVEN if that was the situation which it would be illegal you came to a place called hackforums? There is no legal loophole that any judge would be on your side for this situation, nor would I think omni would allow it considering he doesn't want SEing on here which much less a criminal offence than leaking someone's SSN or worse. * - Mr. WAVES - Sep 20, 2017 (Sep 20, 2017 03:16 PM)Nachfolger Wrote: You're not stealing an identitiy by looking up the SSN. I'm sure you won't To me this is identity theft * - Mαxim - Sep 21, 2017 I don't think that any PI service on the clearnet should be in need of offering to find someones SSN to be honest. Here's a definition of Identity theft for those wondering: Quote:the illegal use of someone else's personal information (such as a Social Security number) especially in order to obtain money or credit>> Source |
