This joker was printed in ultra high resolution (0.06 mm). It took almost nine days of continuous printing and four failed attempts to finally complete.

The mask is printed in 2 pieces - the top half and the bottom half.

The top half printed perfectly the first time. I was not so lucky with the bottom half. It had to be sliced two times in two different orientations, it failed the first four times and left me extremely frustrated. It finally printed the fifth time but it's not perfect. The teeth came out kind of incomplete and there is a lot of stringing as well. I will be filling, sanding, and filing the crap out of it.

I will post updates when it's sanded and ready for paint and also a final picture once it's done painting and ready for Halloween.

That is one horrifying mask.
"nine days of continuous printing and four failed attempts" Damn that's crazy

9 days? That's why I don't have a 3D printer. And then partly because I can't afford it.

It looks awesome though. Are you going to color it?

* - Killy - Sep 26, 2017

looks good for halloween
are you going to paint it tho?

Yeah man, it was actually pretty stressful.

One thing I forgot to mention is that this mask is HUGE. It had once inch thick walls so it still fits a regular sized face. I have never seen anybody with a face as big as this mask.

That looks pretty cool.
It took that long to print? That's crazy lol. Well, I guess it's better than buying all the stuff you would need to.

* - Professional27 - Sep 26, 2017

That's crazy that it takes that long to print. However it's an amazing piece of technology to have!
What else have you printed? Looking forward to seeing the final outcome of this.

That looks sick man, are you going to paint it??? Jk just taking the piss

Have you 3D printed other things in the past or is this the first?

* - Grimlockxx - Sep 26, 2017

looks pretty nice, i like it

* - thales - Sep 26, 2017

I'm assuming you're going to paint it?

* - ComputerScience - Sep 26, 2017

How does it keeps failing? Aren't they made to be precise?

* - Noceur - Sep 26, 2017

that looks hella dope but spooky.
hope it all goes well for halloween. :)

* - King of SE - Sep 26, 2017

Looks pretty nice but, why though?

* - .Astro - Sep 27, 2017

Y'all should print me a mouthpiece for my trumpet ;o
My friend has a 3D printer and he did it just for the hell of it and it worked lol.

But on-topic; That's really dope man. Did you make the 3D image itself or did you find a project online for it? Cause I know they have like websites with a collection of files that you can print with a 3D printer.

216 hours includes the failures?

shouldnt 3D printing be faster for just a mask
