cmd closes immediately after opening - empeK - Nov 14, 2017

So as a title says my cmd just randomly decided to close immediately after opening like in half a second.

I was using ConEmu till one day i opened it and it showed me an error i thought it was ConEmu fault, but it seems that program can't use windows cmd anymore cause it is not opening.

Tried to open with cmd /k did not work.
In group policy prevent access to the command prompt is checked as not configured.

All i can get is this screenshot of cmd if i print screen it fast enough before it closes

Any ideas what went wrong ?

Try to run "sfc /scannow" using a runbox. Do Windows Key + R.

It does the same with this. Window just closes immediately

Quote:How are you opening it?

There is a possibilty that you have the following Registry setting configured:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System!DisableCMD
If you see the value 'DisableCMD' in the above location then simply delete it.

If you are not comfortable with editing the Registry then you will find this setting by going to:
Start > RUN
Type gpedit.msc and press OK

Navigate to: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System
Look for the option 'Prevent access to the command prompt'
Double click it and choose 'Not Configured'

Copied and pasted from another site. Try the regedit method first.

I guess you have been infected...

Download MalwareBytes.
Open msconfig > boot > check "Safe Boot"
Restart your PC.
Run a scan in safe mode. Enable "Rootkit scan"

Aight so it seems i was infected. I ran malwarebytes and it found be a threat and i deleted it, then i tried open cmd and it worked. Then to make sure i restarted in safe mode and after restart i can see only cmd window now even in normal boot. I can access everything, cmd, task manager file locations from task manager and etc. But on main screen it only shows cmd and black screen behind it. No start no other stuff to access with mouse

Sounds like you are still infected.

Are you opening a program that you wrote?

open with notepad and add
Code
pause
to end of code.

Nevermind, I see it now. What did malware antibytes see/detect?

Seems that you have done something wrong with the configuration.
Try a safe boot and look at your task manager for anything you shouldn't be running.
