Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ernestmiller - Nov 24, 2017 Looking at some of the courses as I am looking for affordable pen testing certifications The Pen Testing Junior Cert caught my eye, as its quite cheap though I thought it might be to basic for me as I have a CyberSecurity CCNA from Cisco but nothing directy related to pen testing. I would do the OSCP but I do not think I am ready and also cannot really afford it. RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - CyberStrike - Nov 24, 2017 I have not personally taken them but I know a few people who have and it was challenging. OSCP is what 800-1000 dollars somewhere about there RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ZXshockaXZ - Nov 25, 2017 If you have your CCNA Security, don't waste your time on eJPT. Just go straight for eCPPT. https://www.elearnsecurity dot com/course/penetration_testing_student/ Download kali and metasploitable2, run them in a VM, follow the Syllabus and google the things that you are unfamiliar with. eCPPT will cover everything in more detail. RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ernestmiller - Nov 26, 2017 I would but I cannot afford the eCPPT exam its like a 1000 dollars can only afford the first one at 300 dollars lol RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ZXshockaXZ - Nov 26, 2017 (Nov 26, 2017 06:16 AM)ernestmiller Wrote: I would but I cannot afford the eCPPT exam its like a 1000 dollars can only afford the first one at 300 dollars lol I get that completely. I would still say to use their syllabus to self study while saving your money. Unfortunately, the eJPT cert really won't help you too much when it comes to finding a job, and while the knowledge is good, most of it is pretty basic. I bought the eJPT course (they didn't have the exam yet) when it was discounted to $99 a few years ago. If you do decide to spend the $300 on it, I think you might be slightly disappointed, but it is still fun and you will still likely learn some things from it. the eCPPT is definitely more expensive, but it is definitely worth the money as well. The course is a blast and the knowledge is good. eLearn certs just aren't as well known yet, but that is slowly changing. RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ernestmiller - Nov 26, 2017 I have also been looking online at Pen Tester Academy and Security Tube they seem to have certifications and a lot of videos as well RE: Anyone have any experience with the ELEARN Pen Testing Exams - ZXshockaXZ - Nov 26, 2017 I have learned a lot from Vivek. He is a great teacher. The money to pentester academy is well worth it, and it looks like they have added a lot of new content since I was last there. I've never done any of their cert exams. I don't believe they are too well known as far as employers go. The study material is great though. |
