WPF (windows presentation foundation) Database Creation - Hallyion - Dec 5, 2017 Hi, I haven't posted on here since like 2010 and I'm getting back into programming and the HF community was a brilliant resource for me learning back in the day. I want to create a program that can let a user; 1. create a new empty database 2. allow the user to populate database from a text file and add new items to the text file 3. let the user use the UI to view currently selected item in the database Can anyone help me with this please? Getting back into the swing of things is tough, I almost forget entirely how to code for WPFs and C# in general. What would an application like this look like? Thanks in advance :) RE: WPF (windows presentation foundation) Database Creation - Ninja - Dec 5, 2017 There is no WPF Database Creation. WPF is not a language. Also, you use XAML for the UI of a WPF application. Anyways, if you were to structure your DAL correctly the UI and what framework you use for it should not matter. You can use ORM frameworks for the database like Entity Framework, or maybe some more lightweight frameworks, or create your own DAL by for example implementing the repository pattern. I recommend to use SQLite, I like using it, and it is perfect if you just need a small local database. When you get started is is easy to create tables and map them to objects in c#. |
