iphone 6 touch wont work - markduals85 - Dec 8, 2017
Bought an iphone 6 which the touch screen wont work, figured digitizer may be bad so replaced it with new lcd/digitizer. Still wont recognize touch. Looks like it may have had minor water damage but home screen still comes up and charges fine.
Have double checked flex cables, they are seated correct, they are missing the foam could this cause it? would like to try all options before returning digitizer ( it could be bad too maybe ?)
Any help will be appreciated.

The foam doesn't affect the functionality of the display in any way.
Make sure your new screen is working fine before jumping to conclusions. Also, make sure the connectors on the motherboard are not damaged. If they are damaged, you may need to replace them which is not an easy job for someone with no experience nor tools. Please also make sure you've seated the flex cabled properly before trying.
