VPS OpenVPN Server Setup - TUN Help Please - Lucrid - Dec 31, 2017

Hello,

I've been trying to setup OpenVPN for several days now. I've tried Ubuntu and CentOS, neither of which seem to work even when following multiple guides to a T.

Here is status

Code
administrator@mini:~$ sudo systemctl status [email protected]

RE: RAMNode VPS Setup OpenVPN - MistaWolf - Jan 1, 2018

I had a similar problem with my VPN's but i used SoftEther, since im not sure what could cause that problem i suggest trying to enable TUN/TAP.
If that doesn't help, try installing SoftEther and provide me results, you can connect with OpenVPN client to SoftEther one too.

Thanks for your reply.

I've already tried to enable TUN/TAP but I don't think it's done anything for me. Let me make sure I did it again after my last start-over.

I get this error when trying to modprobe tun

Quote:modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:514 lookup_builtin_file() could not open builtin file '/lib/modules/2.6.32-042stab123.1/modules.builtin.bin'
modprobe: FATAL: Module tun not found in directory /lib/modules/2.6.32-042stab123.1

After following some instructions from a Linode forum post, it seems I was able to enable tun0. However, I'm still getting this error when starting the OpenVPN service.

have you tried turning it off and on again?
