a competitor - Mr.Ransom - Jan 1, 2018 so i was recently looking into getting my own website and be fully dedicated to learning seo and marketing. the keyword i am trying to "attack" has insane low traffic only 2.5k monthly so i read some threads about how backlinks are super important and you almost must have them so i decided to do a backup check on their website they had 103k backlinks. should i be super worried or? i was also thinking lets say on their website there is a forum post where i could link my website would that count as a "backlink" some negative stuff i found about the website was they where not using SSL nor was the website Optimized. there where using outdated keywords. note most of the links where off topic such as porno backlinks and irrelevant to the topic which is gaming. RE: a competitor - ocd_eddie - Jan 9, 2018 If your main keyword is only getting 2.5K searches a month, I'd say it's probably not worth the effort unless of course the keyword is an expensive product. Competition is good by the way, too much competition is bad. Yes you need backlinks to get ranked in Google but go for quality over quantity here. So a quality backlink is a backlink from a high authority website surrounded by high quality relevant content. Hope that helps. |
