Worth investing 20,000$ in ETH mining? - CyberAlien - Jan 11, 2018
The question is plain and simple. I did the maths, check the calculators online. Always considered the worst scenario, and I seems to hit an ROI in approx 120 days.
What is bothering me is Proof of Stake, when is going to happen. Is it going to happen suddenly or?
Please, give me some ideas or opinions fellow miners. I know, I'm wasting time daily by doing my researches.
Keep in mind I do have 20,000$ to invest, not my life saving so I'm not worried that I will lose everything. In the end, I could sell the cards for a cheaper price and get something back.

Worth it imho.
investing 20k you can probably work out a couple deals to save money on certain parts since you will be buying bulk.

Invest your $20k in an S&P 500 index fund. Don't throw that all in Crypto unless you can afford to lose a lot of it.

I do respect your opinion, but what about the idea of after 10 months having 20k in ETH and 8 mining rigs?

Depends on your situation and what result you want to have.
Building a 20k rig is not an easy setup nor easy to maintain.
On the other hand we won't know if ETH price will go up or down so buying 20k worth of ETH is not a very smart move either,
we all hope to that it goes up and those damned experts say so. 🤝 🤝

I'de say it is worth it. You can also make 2-3 Rigs and mine different crypto with each of them. Or you can also build rig for 10-15k and invest the rest in altcoins. There are many options. Just calculate the risks and see what fits you best.
