I made a large thread here:

But after seeing it I want to make some formatting edits. But I can't edit the thread because it says it exceeds the maximum length limit. This is kind of annoying and I don't see the point of it really. Please make it so that you can edit large threads like this.

Assuming your suggestion is denied....
You can remove BBCode to allow more characters otherwise you can make a two post thread. Have someone post after your first post (the original thread) and then post the second half immediately after. Then the user deletes their post. This is obviously for future guides and doesn’t help you right now. Perhaps Ep1c should have a longer character count for threads?
Or maybe threads should be allowed a longer character count but posts normal?

Yeah that's what I did to make the OP longer - split it into separate posts. But now that they're all posted I can't go back and edit them since HF combined them into one big post which is too long now. I don't see the post limit if you can append to the end of your post, but you just can't edit it. It seems like an oversight and just kind of pointless really. How much hosting costs does it take to store a little bit more text? If it's spam it will get deleted anyway. I was trying to make some HQ content but now I can't.

When using the rich format editor(usually on by default) and using post tools it adds multiple pointless bb code like align codes and text color codes, you could try to remove those where needed.

Yes, the post/thread length limits were changed when the 1.8.X upgrade was completed. This might be reverted back to the old limits soon, I'm not sure.
I'm also not aware of what current limits are, but my threads used to be possible to edit just fine but since the upgrade they are no longer possible to edit.

No lol, OP posted like 4 posts consecutively which automatically merged together so together he would be well above the limit.

Ep1c group grants higher post character count (24k). Just Ub3r is 18k.
