Selenium/PhantomJS in C# Botnet ? - Roblox_BTC - Jan 22, 2018 So i am working on a POC.. and i want to develop a simple botnet to demonstrate how easy it is for botmasters to do adfraud using third part libraries.. I am an undergrad in Uni.. and this is a software that will never be used in the real world... I am making it for a conference presentation.. I was planning on automating tasks using Selenium & PhantomJS in C#.. I had a couple of questions: 1. If i use the aforementioned library and code this using Visual studio.. will the victims need to have Selenium/PhantomJS on their PCs ? Sorry if this sounds stupid.. I guess it is statically linked and hence on being compiled it will generate a binary that will have everything in it.. Just making sure i am not wrong on this ? 2. I guess the size of the file will be larger as it will have these libraries in it.. Is there a better way of automating tasks and getting most of the functionalities the webdriver has by using something else ? Constructive critic would be appreciated.. I know C# .NET only.. not VB.. :) RE: Selenium/PhantomJS in C# Botnet ? - gigajew - Jan 22, 2018 You can use ILMerge or similar software to embed or conjoin two, or more .NET assemblies. Just make sure to “drop” any native dependencies if there are any. And yeah the final binary will be larger than usual for a http bot, even with compression. I’m working on my own POC http bot at the moment, I’m not going to release or use it (for public record). I use basic System.Net.WebRequest, and native api calls to make sure that there is network connection present. RE: Selenium/PhantomJS in C# Botnet ? - gigajew - Jan 22, 2018 I’m just saying that you can, in case you use a managed wrapper for selenium RE: Selenium/PhantomJS in C# Botnet ? - r0binho0d44 - Apr 18, 2018 Any chance you would post your project, once its done? |
