At the end of it, Caesar's body only had 23 stabs wound. Even back then, not all the members for a group project would do their part.

Yeah that's what the general opinion of him is
I would think that after 23, the body would've been both dead and bloody. Maybe a lot of them chickened out. They weren't the evil people, Ceaser was. The good of them decided not to go through with it, once the overall goal of the crowd was realized.

It's not like you're about to go ahead and time travel to do it yourself. It would like stabbing Donald Trump, or Hillary Clinton; many* people would do this without second thought*- should there be no rules dictating they can't.
