I went from dial-up to satellite about 5 years ago. My internet has always been like this.
Even paying for better speeds (1mb to 5mb) there is no difference in loading times because of my ping.
Over the fall, a company installed the fiber line along my street but ground frost formed before they could do house hookups.
My speeds will be 800mb-1gb once I get it hooked up, I can't wait!

That is interesting that your lakehouse has better internet than your home.
Usually, it is the other way around.
Also, I am assuming that you mean cottage when you say lake house.
