Older phone stuck in a bootloop - Prof. Farnsworth - Mar 6, 2018

I had this phone for a while, bought it for testing things out on it.
It's a "Gionee elife e6", pretty cheap and easy to root.

I noticed that there might be a compatible kali nethunter kernel out there, so I thought why not try to install it.

Went into recovery mode, noticed that for some reason it defaulted back to the stock one, which is in some Asian language(?).

Found the translation for it, not that helpful.

So I tried to install a custom recovery so I can flash the Kali rom. Didn't go that well, tried flashing them from the phone (worked a few years ago, it didn't now). I still had the custom recovery images I used on the phone.
Since that didn't work, I copied them over to my PC and tried to install them with adb+fastboot.
The "adb reboot-bootloader" or "adb reboot bootloader" didn't work. I installed a terminal emulator on the phone, got root and tried to reboot from there. Still didn't go into fastboot.

I'm not a patient guy when it comes to these kind of things (worked and now it doesn't).
So I tried flashing some random recovery to see what happens, needless to say I bricked my phone.

The only thing I am able to do right now is get into that recovery mode, which I don't understand.
However, adb works while in the recovery mode. If anybody with more experience wants to take a look at the log file (and probably come up with a solution) let me know.

Moral of the story, don't do things just to see what happens unless you can afford the loss.  😏

That mode your phone is booting into is called "Factory Mode" and every MTK based phone has it. Since you're able to use adb then you can simply use this command "adb reboot recovery" and see if your phone will boot into recovery mode with that command.

Trying to boot into recovery doesn't really help me at this point. Since flashing an incompatible recovery is what got me stuck in the bootloot in the first place.
Was hoping that shell access is what could save the phone.

Try flashing the original rom back onto the phone

Hope this helps
