XMPP saves chat protocols ?? - NeroModern - Mar 12, 2018 Hey everyone, I encountered a scammer and he has chat protocols of our chat. He now quotes things totally out of context and I can't counter that properly because I don't have screenshots and I thought Pidgin + XMPP + OTR doesn't saves chat protocols. For me it didn't, but for him it recorded everthing. Is that because he maybe used not Pidgin but another client? Also he writes me when I am offline and I don't receive those msgs. I thought it's normal that you only recive messages when online. Shouldn't it be like; open new chat -> make it otr -> chat -> close chat -> start from new with new chat & no chat history. I feel like both things should be like I used Pidgin befor, but not sure whether he could be right (at least for the 2nd thing). I need this for my argument. He scammed me for over 1k$. Thank you in advance 🎉 greetings RE: XMPP saves chat protocols ?? - Haseo™ - Mar 12, 2018 He could have taken screen shots too though? Lightshot is a neat tool while pidgin client is open. RE: XMPP saves chat protocols ?? - Charger - Mar 12, 2018 If using Pidgin: ![]() ![]() Not sure if it still logs with OTR. RE: XMPP saves chat protocols ?? - NeroModern - Mar 12, 2018 @haseo No he has it in text. He can ctrl+c it fast, so I think so. @charger With OTR there are non. Literally the only thing I received from him that I can see there is "hey. received my messages?". And do you receive messages that were sent when you were offline? Hey everybody, do you receive messages that were sent when you were offline when you come online? With Pidgin? With or without Otr? Or with any other tool? I only receive messages when online. |
