So i was on the weight loss subreddit, and i was just discussing cheat meals, and all of a sudden i was barraged with comments like 'downvoting this, the lack of punctuation makes it harder for the viewer to read it' and shit like that, and the worst part was that people were agreeing with him?! it's the fucking internet, and the fact people are actually like that makes me hate earth 'No capital letters after fullstops' and shit like that, i honestly thought they were trolling at first

Reddit is actually pretty chill; I've never had an experience like yours on Reddit.
However, some subreddits might be more "aggressive" with their stances, and they might bash you if you don't follow their rules and/or hidden rules.

They're both pretty bad. Reddit is probably better for more 'serious' discussion whereas 4chan is 99% shitposting.
