Is it ok if im 23 and i dont work - Account of the Gods - Apr 1, 2018 My parents tell me go work and try to make me feel guilt by using various verbal offences, suggestions, arguing and jelling. But I have more time for CPA if I dont work so if I dont work ill reach financial independence faster. Am I right or in the wrong? How to make my parents let me NOT work for longer? You are in the right as long as you're genuinely putting in equivalent work to a full-time job or at least close to it. Don't get sucked into the automated income bullshit dream. DO NOT give in to your parents pressure and get a fulltime job, it will make financial freedom very difficult to reach, as you will be working too much to realistically start a business unless you have insane levels of discipline and spend all your off-time in your business. You will be unable to quit your job to start a business because of bills and will be locked into a shitty situation that you don't want to be in. If you do your research this is a very winnable argument by the way, the only denial to it is delusion and old-fashioned mentality. If you feel like you're on the verge on being kicked out, a part-time job wouldn't be a bad idea. You can definitely start a business while working part-time. Hell, it might even be beneficial, as you could fund your business. If you're living under their roof but are able to contribute financially, that'd also be fine. But if you're still a liability for them, you should respect their wishes and keep that a side gig while working towards financial independence. RE: Is it ok if im 23 and i dont work - SIM-2223238 - Apr 1, 2018 they don't give a fuck about you doing a physical job or not, they just want to see you financially independend. if you make the cash show em the cash and show em that there's way much more income from CPA or whatever you're doing RE: Is it ok if im 23 and i dont work - SupremeLV - Apr 1, 2018 I'm 16 and don't work but I play sports in the summer and shit so if you ever make it professionally then you are good :) RE: Is it ok if im 23 and i dont work - test - Apr 1, 2018 Are you really close to being financially independent or are you just saying that to justify being lazy and not working? If you really are close to being independent then show your parents the proof. Show them the money and help them understand exactly what you do. However you simply need to work to get life experience. You’re still a child at 23. Let that sink in.
