someone help me pick a topic for this research paper - Lavish Living - Apr 6, 2018
this is the prompt:
1. Select a topic to research concerning the Philosophy of Race (e.g., “Power and
Agency is Jamaican Roots Reggae”). Your paper should be analytical and
argumentative. That is, you will have to make a claim and defend. Remember: you
only have 1300-1500 words for your final paper, so pick a narrow topic that you can
develop well.
2. Write 1 paragraph explaining your thesis/goal/inquiry question(s)
3. Identify 2 relevant and unique scholarly sources (i.e., books or peer-reviewed
journal articles) and write one paragraph explaining what the sources is about
and how it relates to your topic (DO NOT COPY THE ABSTRACT, as this
constitutes plagiarism). Do not cite websites, blogs, wiki-quotes, wikipedia (never
an OK source), encyclopedias (never OK either) or popular magazines (e.g., Time,
HUffPo, NetGeo) as your 2 main scholarly sources. Do not use the articles we read
in class as your unique scholarly sources. If you are rusty on your research
techniques, make sure to starter your research here and/or recruit the help of a
librarian; they are there to help you.
