Euro Symbol Blocked in Thread Title - Formant - Apr 11, 2018
I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I made a currency exchange thread recently and noticed that the Euro sign (€) was blocked in the thread title. It would let me enter the symbol but when I posted/edited the thread, the symbol wasn't there. AFAIK, the USD symbol works in thread titles so why wouldn't the Euro symbol?

It happened when Omni blocked symbols from thread titles. It was suggested to be allowed and denied multiple times. Can't remember why

Hmm. That thread is from 2013... a lot has changed since then.
I'm all for banning special characters in usernames/threads as that can be abused (to the point of even impersonating other members), but I don't get how a EUR or GBP sign is a special character. Wouldn't the USD sign also be a "special character" in that case? It's on all EU keyboards, normally the 2 key (Alt Gr+2).

And yeah, I don't plan on adding anything to circumvent the thread titles as they are. But that trick gives me an idea. Hmm.....
EDIT: Altered the plugin so that it now replaces the unicode with the html decimal version. Works. :) You should now be able to use the € symbol in thread titles.
