He mentioned about networking, but it's not always something one can do, especially with large pages/starting out.

If it's growing your own page in 2-5 days to 100k or spending an equal amount of $ on buying a stat of 200k - I'll choose the first one any day

Many social media experts who have been around for ages have semi big emperiums on certain platforms.
And it's doubtful it's his first 100k+ page if he can grow them in 2 days. And judging on his view (if it's his apartment) he's making plenty of money as it is.

He should've mentioned how much he spent on ads or how he got these shout-outs. How much do you think he spent?

He probably spent so much money on those ads, I've worked with a few of the pages that had promoted his page, and they are not fucking cheap lmao.
