VPN policies - Pronouncer - Jun 1, 2018

Okay so I understand the risk of using a VPN being that it can match numerous members, is there any other risk on HF other than that? Like account merging or closure?
Atm using a dedicated residential vpn gets a lil pricy

No Guarantees about this.
Anything can happen if your VPN IP is matched with other ban evaders/scammers/spammers.

Oh so there’s a risk of mistaken identity and getting banned? I’m always on a VPN, May have to stop if that’s the case

Alright thanks, guess I'll stay with my dedicated ip.

I am actually too paranoid to use VPN on HF, eventhough the chance is really small of getting matched with a banned IP.

As I said, it's your risk and not my call.
If I see your so called VPN IP harming HF , I'll take action depending on the damage done on HF. Clear?

Using a VPN and claiming excuses for IP matches for other members who have done BS on HF previously does not go down well with me also!
If you're all clear, you've nothing to worry else you get what you deserve.

Even if it matches with a banned IP. It would just show up a message when you visit HF, "Your account is banned". So you just gotta switch to another IP and it is back to normal

That's a call from an experienced ban evader yeah?

Sorry but this answer feels a bit ignorant.

Toughen down big boy.

You could've communicated this in a way more mature way and gotten your point across still, if not even better.

OP: If you're really worried you can perhaps setup your own proxy / vpn on a VPS so you don't have a matching IP. I only encourage you to do this if you have any experience with servers and hardening, otherwise buy a VPN service that can provide a dedicated IP.

I my self am not using a dedicated IP and will not be doing so, as that is not very good for anonymity.

Another thing you could do is use any VPN service of your choice and then proxy all your traffic to HF to a proxy server you setup your self or even just route the traffic from HF to your home IP.

Thanks for the advice, i just bought 200IP's and set them to randomise after X minutes. :)

No worries.

For others:
You can use this tool to route traffic to your network IP instead of your VPN / proxy.
https://github.com/ThatMadGuy/Route-Manager/releases
Keep in mind that HF is utilizing multiple IPs so you will have to route all of them. (They might also change over time)

Relax dude lol, that's the message you get if you try to use a public VPN that's been blocked
