Disable Error 1015 Rate Limit for Upgraded members - Pre-eminent - Jun 3, 2018
As some of you may have experienced, HF now bans your IP for 24 hours if you open multiple tabs too fast. The feature is great for preventing attacks, but its also quite annoying for regular HF members such as myself when checking post replies.
Therefore I was wondering if we could disable this for certain ranks/upgrades as a perk of being upgraded.

There is no way to attach rank to IP.

I just opened a bunch of tabs to test it since this is the first I've heard of this, and RIP lol. I just connected to a VPN to write this. I should've fucking connected to a VPN to open a bunch of tabs but no, I'm an idiot. Anyway............

It keeps happening with me too just browsing the forums. I still cannot view profiles as I just get this error. It doesn't really happen while viewing threads though, but it is nearly impossible to view profiles.

yea the captchas are horrible. have to be on a vpn to avoid them or otherwise get them every other page

Pretty much. I believe that the blocking is done by Cloudflare, which means that your HF account is not yet authenticated when traffic is filtered through them. Unfortunately there is little that can be done until Omni adjusts the Cloudflare security settings.

How come it only really happens to me when I try to view profiles. I literally cannot view any profile.

Strange, I've gotten the banned for 24 hours messages. However I just close the page and come back and it let's me browse

I'm using Session Buddy to save and restore my Google Chrome tabs and I got hit aswell. Not sure if disabling error 1015 is doable though

I've gotten those messages several times today. Sometimes opening like 4-5 tabs is enough. Use VPN and move on. Thankfully Opera has a VPN feature built-in.

Even if it is doable, it may use for more abuse. I love opening many tabs at once but now, I limit it to only two tabs.

i got the same issue, every time i wanna click on a profile i can the ip "ban" message

Realistically the only thing I could setup would be IP whitelisting but I'm limited to about 2000 firewall ip rules and I use about 1000 of them. So even if I did it, only 1000 members could get whitelisted. Also whitelisting members is a security risk. Could be abused so I wouldn't do it anyways.
I'll continue to adjust our security but at times of attack it may be necessary to annoy you with captcha and deal with false-positives in order for the site to stay online. That's just how it is.
