Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - Condoms - Jun 6, 2018 https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/https-everywhere/gcbommkclmclpchllfjekcdonpmejbdp?hl=en Wondering if this is a safe addon to use for my Chrome Browser, or what would you recommend? RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - SIM-1097664 - Jun 6, 2018 Its built into Tails so I'm going to assume its safe RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - Kawen - Jun 6, 2018 It is a bit annoying, when I visit pages of movies and most of the time they appear blank links or the page without working, or when I make payments in some web pages and do not execute the script .js of the page, but you can add your own rules and help in those aspects. RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - Mr Meeseeks - Jun 6, 2018 It is a safe extension, but it may interfere with some sites. RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - 77777 - Jun 8, 2018 Using the HTTPS protocol is essential if you want to be safe online. The HTTPS Everywhere extension is maintained by the EFF and the Tor Project, thus you can assume it's trustworthy. It is also open-source, and you can view the source code on Github. RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - Flipybitz™️ - Jun 24, 2018 Yes it's completely safe to use, the only real downside to enabling it everywhere at all times is that if you have content being loaded from another source (aka loading an insecure image from an http protocol on https), it won't work, so some sites may behave unexpectedly. If that happens to be the case however, you can just toggle it off easily by clicking the icon. Pretty handy and powerful little extension for some extra peace of mind. EDIT: An example of the type of error you'd typically see is something like this: Code WARNING: Mixed Content: The page at 'https://-redacted-' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://-redacted-.png'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.RE: Has anyone ever used Https Everywhere extension/addon? - T0pi4ry - Jun 28, 2018 It's GREAT, But HTTPS is decrypted YEAAAAAAARS ago by NSA :((( |
