Layout managers or Absolute Positioning - ViSion91 - Jun 10, 2018 What do you think about layout managers in java ? I really find it pretty confusing and prefer to use Absolute positioning since i find it easier. Should i practice more layout managers or it's a good idea to stick with absolute positioning ? RE: Layout managers or Absolute Positioning - GenericSkid - Jun 10, 2018 Absolute position is really only a viable option if you know that your window will not be resized or change in any way. Also its great for GUI builders. You should not use layout managers just to use them. Each one serves a purpose and with a general understanding of how they work it should "just make sense" when to use specific ones. Think of a variety of applications and try making UI's for them. They don't have to function, but it will serve as good practice. RE: Layout managers or Absolute Positioning - ViSion91 - Jun 11, 2018 Thanks for your reply, i think i'll start doing some layout exercises as soon as possible. |
