Regarding Possible Rep Abuse - Binary Point - Jun 14, 2018
Is there no such thing as rep abuse? Could I pay (or just for free ask) someone to give someone else a -3/+3? For example, I help a member with something via PM. Then ask the member to just -3 rep another member? Could I pay for this? Is it against the rules?
Or will it be punishable because it's rep abuse? Should I report this activity? Does this activity break any rules? Or are there no rules at all regarding reps and rep abuse? Since reps do not reflect the marketplace at all.

Ok now we all understand that it will be counted as threatening or harassing members to ask a member to -3 another member. We also know that you could ask for -rep to be added to yourself, if that's what you want, but not to other members. From what I heard you are not allowed to make "free rep4rep" threads, or to ask a random member for rep in a PM, it's low quality. Occasionally, asking after helping another member to "+rep me if you feel like I helped you" is okay.
You could also buy/sell rep from a marketplace thread. However, I think asking a random member to sell/buy rep via PM (not a marketplace thread) is most likely spam and not allowed. But I am not sure.
The final questions are:
- Is it ever against the rules to ask someone else to plus rep another member? Is this rep abuse? Asking a member to give green apples to another member? Whether it's paid, unpaid, or as a reward for helping someone?
- Is it ever against the rules to randomly send a member a PM asking to buy/sell rep? (not a marketplace thread)

This issue has been addressed very recently in a similar thread. Counts as harassment. And gang repping still isn't allowed, as far as I know.

But don’t go and PM someone asking a member to harass someone.
Don’t make your problems someone else’s.

You're allowed to ask for rep now, yes.
You can sell/buy rep if you wish. But I doubt people would pay for it lol.
Besides you are not upgraded, you can't "sell" rep.

I guess it's allowed to ask another member to +rep someone. Since it's not harassment and is just considered as being nice.
