MacOS Complete Disk Encryption - Geomaster44 - Jun 20, 2018 I'm looking around for the best open source disk encryption for a Macbook Pro 2017 (MacOS 10.13.5). I was looking around and I want something more then File Vault that doesn't allow apple to have back door access. I want something that protects the whole disk and logon. I was looking at the idea of a USB-C chip authorizer by Yubico or an open source encryption that uses a password. I do use VeraCrypt to protect single vaults bit I want something that can protect the disk completely. Any suggestions? Check this too. RE: MacOS Complete Disk Encryption - Geomaster44 - Jun 20, 2018 No, I'm using default OS X with no changes to security and only one partition. I just don't want to use file fault and yes my laptop potentially maybe taken by police. I'm on probation. However, you need to change the way Mac's suspending, from memory to hard drive, to not keep your encryption key in memory. How would one go about doing this? I came up with his, MacVault + Framework password. Partition my hard drive encrypt on with VeraCrypt, installed VMware running windows with bitlocker, inside the Windows VM I have a VeraCrypt partition storing my documents. So is this secure enough?
