What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - Silver Fang - Jun 20, 2018 Topic, why are the recommendations etc broken? Did the DB crash? I've tried to search but can't find anything specific about what happened with the site... The site has something in the news ticketbox on the site but cant read because of broken site/links. Thanks in advance! RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - Deany - Jun 20, 2018 They're killing it on purpose lol RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - DerMensch24 - Jun 20, 2018 They initially took down the site to update it to my knowledge, however they later exposed a security flaw with their API and have taken it down ever since to resolve the issue. They've slowly been re-implementing features, but its uncertain when everything will be operational. RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - Eternal. - Jun 20, 2018 I was hoping it wasn't offline for good, glad to see it's an update they are resolving. RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - tweety - Jun 20, 2018 they have no idea how to run a website and are working on live production morons RE: What happened with MAL Site? Their recommendations are not on par with MAL, but are still pretty good. RE: What happened with MAL Site? Indeed. There are a few other sites as well such as Anime-Planet that you can easily export your list to and have most of the entries uploaded. EDIT: As of Today seems profiles are back so this is good! RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - Caspεr - Jun 23, 2018 I'm not sure, but here is a great alternative I use for keeping track of my anime and I really like the layout simkl(.)com my animelist is outdated imo. RE: What happened with MAL Site? (MyAnimeList.net) - severos - Jun 23, 2018 They freaked me out when I tried to update my watching list and found website was down for couple days... I don't know what's taking them this long to fix all the stuff if it was just a security issue they found (unless it's a very complicated one). Other websites should try scraping MAL data and do some machine learning to improve their recommendation system.. |
